Types of Abortions
- The Abortion Pill (Chemical/Medication Abortion) – First Trimester
- Aspiration Abortion – Early Second Trimester

The Abortion Pill (Chemical/ Medication Abortion) – First Trimester
The abortion pill can be taken up to 70 days after a woman’s last menstrual period.

The abortion pill can be taken up to 70 days after a woman’s last menstrual period.
Aspiration Abortion – Early Second Trimester
If a woman is 10 or more weeks into her pregnancy and is not eligible for the abortion pill, or in the event of a medication abortion failure, an aspiration (vacuum) abortion is typically performed.
D&E Abortion – Second and Third Trimester
D&E abortions are typically performed at 15 weeks or after.
